Russell Alvin
Burdett: 88, died June 8, 2011 in Elmira, NY. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of his life on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church, Watkins Glen; followed by a luncheon at the church. Born August 22, 1922 in Rochester, NY to Edward and Helen (Schlessing) Parsons. Russell retired from the USDA as a Soil Scientist. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Watkins Glen. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Jean Parsons in 2001; parents, and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son Dale and his wife Vicky Parsons, Santa Ana, Calif.; daughter Margaret (Marzie) Lewis, Burdett, NY; six grandchildren Skye (Matt) Maya and Aislinn Lewis, Hali (Drew) Shallahamer, Jordan (Tassi), Todd, and Kira Parsons; and four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Tanner and Olivia Shallahamer, and Shaye Marie Maya.
