My memories of Joe relate to the many years we were neighbors at Harbour Ridge in Florida. We had so many good times playing golf and joking about the silly things us Canadians do and say. His golf "buddies" already miss him and send their condolences to Mary and the family.

Dear Mary,
I knew Joe very well- we played a lot of golf together at HR - I am a Dentist so we had a lot in common - Joe was definitely one of the nicest, softest men I knew - but the left hander could hit the golf ball- we will miss Joe.
Sincerely,
Ed Andochick

Dr. Flatley was my DR. from my teenage years until he retired. After I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996 he called me at home to let me know he was retiring - he didn't want me to just get the letter - he had such compassion and knew it would be hard for me. I have never had a DR since who could measure up to his caring. My sympathies to his family - he was a special man.

Joe and Mary were like second parents to us growing up next door. Watching bowl games, tending to our scrapes and bruises and looking after our own parents. We will miss you Dr. Joe. We love you both.

My sincere sympathy to the family of Dr. Flatley. He was my doctor for many years and "set the bar" for all subsequent doctors. His compassion and caring attention was the best - always cognizant of the mind/body connection in healing. His patients were persons, not just cases. Asked him once, "When do you eat lunch?" He replied, "I don't eat lunch." He gave so much of his time to his patients. May your memories bring you comfort; may prayers sustain you now and in the days to come. Rest in peace, Dr. Flatley.
