Patricia Ghee Obituary
Rochester: Patricia Ghee, 85, entered into rest peacefully at the Leo Hospice Center at St. Ann's Nursing Home on June 27, 2017. She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Vera Smith and her sister Amelia Hampton Story.
For 35 years Patricia was employed at St. Mary's Hospital becoming the second African American to hold a secretarial position at St. Mary's at that time. After retiring she became a Senior Companion at Life Span where she worked in the Adult Day Program for 19 years. She was loved and respected not only by those individuals she served, but by staff as well.
Patricia was a mother extraordinaire to her children Arleata and Charles. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her church family children have all been blessed with love and wisdom given freely and unconditionally from her. She was affectionately adopted by many individuals that called her Mother Ghee, Grandma Pat, Aunt Pat.
Patricia was a good and faithful servant that exhibited love and service to her fellow man. Her humanity was most noticeable at her church home First Genesis Baptist Church. She was one of the founding members and has been a loyal parishioner for over forty years.
Survived by her children; Arleata (Ra'oof) Mustafa, Charles (Barbara) Ghee. Ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. Six nieces, two nephews. Several great-great-great nieces, and nephews as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Patricia's Celebration of Life Memorial Service Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 10am at First Genesis Baptist Church, 292 Hudson Ave. Rochester, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Association.

As one of the "St. Mary's Hospital family," you have my sincerest condolences. Patricia will always be part of the fabric of St. Mary's Hospital mission of charity, mercy, and love. Patricia's legacy will live on in your hearts and minds and also those she served in the name of of Our Lord and Savoir, Jesus Christ.

To My Dearest Mentor and Friend
When I saw you on Tuesday evening my heart was heavy until, I heard you whispered to me, "it is well with my soul" as I walked to my car. I shall always love you Ms Patricia Ann Ghee, you were a true solider, an awesome mentor, and a excellent example of one living by His grace and love. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You taught me how to forgive when it was difficult and to trust the Lord in trouble times. The Word of God says, "the memory of the righteous is bless." Peace be with you family.
