So sorry you had to leave this world in such a harsh way. I will remember you as a good friend, fellow English major, a good man with a poetic soul and a brilliant mind. Hope you are dancing in heaven.

Al will be missed by many people who knew him in numerous capacities throughout the years. Al and I go back to the late 1960s and early 1970s when, as an undergraduate, I was president of the college veterans organization (Geneseo Veterans Club). Over the years we are both rivals and friends and shared mutual thoughts and experiences after I joined the SUNY Geneseo history department as an adjunct in 2001. I only wish I had had a chance to say goodbye to Al as the last time we spoke was just before he retired from Geneseo. Rest in peace my good friend.
