I enjoyed working for Sonny when he was my Sergeant and when he was in Watch Command. He and the rest of the old guard were great mentors. God speed Sonny.

My condolences for Bill and the Robertson Family. When I was 13, our Midvale Babe Ruth Allstar Team won the State Tournament. The day we left for Yuma Arizona to play in the Western Regionals, Sonny gave each player an envelope with $100 cash in each envelope. Sonny had gone around to local Midvale businesses and asked them to donate money for each player to help with the cost of traveling to Arizona. I later had the privilege to work for Lt. Sonny Robertson (Car 20) at the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office. One other privilege I had was playing on that all-star team will Bill AND also working with Lt. Bill Robertson (Car 20) at the Sheriff's Office. God Bless Sonny and the Robertson's.

Bill and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Sonny was my first Sergeant when I started at the Jail and I was very fortunate to have him as my Sergeant and Lieutenant several different times in my career. He kept me out of trouble numerous times and was as Kris said, he was the best Watch Commander the Sheriff's Office has known.
Sonny may you rest in peace.
Scotty Robinson, Captain, Ret. S.L.Co. S.O.
