Dear Mr. Garrison -
You pushed my love for theater and film, it just exploded after I graduated & it did so because your passion for the arts reminded me of my grandmother. Thank you, thank you, thank you, not a day goes by that I do not appreciate that passion.

I was blessed to serve with Bradford for 5 wonderful months in Madera, California. No other missionary helped me feel appreciated or inspired me to endure like him. We would spend our free time drawing, designing story plots, and playing games. Bradford would walk me through the grand performances he had attended before our mission, giving me a greater appreciation of theater. He was more than a companion missionary, he was my best friend. Life took its toll. We got married, had kids and lost track of each other. I brought up his name recently and decided to catch up with him. I'll have to wait longer. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends. May they receive the comfort of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

My relationship with Bradford was short, but it is one that changed how I view myself. I can't think of any person, apart from my own parents, who has boosted my confidence like Bradford. He didn't just casually compliment me, but he took the time to tell me what my talents were and how they affected others. Then he would chastise me (jokingly, but I was still scared) for doubting myself. It almost seems like he made it a goal to help me take myself more seriously. If that was his goal, then he succeeded. I am grateful for the time I had with him and I look forward to the time when I can thank him for his insight, and more importantly his friendship.

I'm not sure if it was Bradford's idea to light the banner from the musical, The Fantasticks, on fire at the cast party this summer. Or if it was Bradford's idea to find some gasoline and soak the banner first. Probably both. But I do know that that banner burned all too quickly, but brilliantly. The same could be said for the man himself. I send my love to all who loved him and promise to keep a little piece of Bradford alive in me as we move forward without him.

Bradford was a significant member of our religious education committee of the Nantucket Unitarian Universalist church. He was a shining addition to our lives, and in the nine months he was here had made many friends. He was a talented educator at the Lighthouse School, and an impressive performer in many local theater productions. A local publication named him one of the "40 under 40" (http://www.nareb-online.com/NAREB_News.html). We loved him, respected him, and miss him.

Dear Garrison family,
We just found out yesterday that Bradford had died. Our hearts hurt for you and those who knew him so well. We love your family and our love and prayers are with you. I will always think of him in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat" at JHS. He was such a talented and fun boy.

My fondest memory of Bradford is the day he married my wife and I. He gave us four rules to live by, which just happened to be rules for playing improv games, but they fit so perfectly. They were: Commit fully, Leave your ego at the door, Always say yes, and Always treat the other with respect. It was fantastic advice to begin a life together with, but it was also the way Bradford lived his entire life. He loved freely, openly, and with all his heart. My life is better for having had Bradford in it. Love you, Bubby. - Josh

Bruce, Patsy, and the kids, ya you will always be the kids to me. Bradford was always the kid with the smile on his face. With that smile you couldn't help but smile back at. Bradford always made it a point to stop by the old neighborhood on Halloween with the kids and say HI! Always beeming with pride over his children, and always somehow making me feel special. I will miss him. My prayers are with the family. May he bless you all.

I was not Bradford's best friend. Most people weren't. But he sure made everyone he met feel like they were. Whether he had a 2 minute chat with someone in line at the grocery store, or whether there was more of a relationship....it did not matter. He made you feel special. And that's the anger. For those who had the joy of knowing him deeply and intimately, there is supreme loss. And for those who were just getting to know him, there is the awful pain of feeling so very cheated by time. Everyone wanted more of him. Because he made each moment bigger and brighter, somehow. What a gift! Nantucket mourns the death of Bradford, as well as the loss of beautiful Talitha and Tayland, who were, and always will be, such a part of this loving and embracing community that Bradford called home. <3

I heard about Bradford before actually meeting him in May 2011, "He's going to be one of the pirates. It'll be great, he sings, and dances. He'll fit right in." I was stage managing 'Peter Pan'. And then, there he was with Talitha and Tayland, bringing laughter and friendship and love and creativity and passion. "Fit right in" he did. And always with a hug, even in the grocery market. On to 'Oliver', where I sold him strawberries, danced beside him and we drank a pint in The Three Cripples. Everything made all the funnier as we spoke with Cockney accents for hours after each performance, even in the grocery market. He was a good friend and his loss has left a hole here. Love, prayers, support and happy thoughts to all Bradford's family, Clay, Tayland and Talitha, come back and see us one day.

I can honestly say Bradford was one of the most effective missionaries that I was companions with, his service dedication and testimony were stellar, his personality was mature beyond his years, It couldnt be duplicated, he was one of a kind! I remember him quietly writing to his sweetheart during that time already in the mission over a year and still anticipating a chance at coming back to his girl! I was so exited to see him successfully marrying her and was madly in love when I finally met her two years after our mission. I can still hear him reading the gigantic billboard in front of that city we served in together in his hilarious southern accent "Jesus is lord of Coalinga", then he would continue on with the bit saying... thats right he's our Jesus, the bible thats ours too, we own that...continued in his baptist preacher voice! You were one of the funniest guys I ever met Bradford! Ive been thinking of you Bradford three weeks ago, and I decided I was gonna find you, I spent the better part of 1 hour searching online for your whereabouts! the closest thing I came to was your brother's facebook page, I sent a message and couldnt wait to hopefully reunite through phone and listen and catch up. then I received the news last week. I love you and know Ill see you in the next life with our maker, Ill never forget your example the time I spent with you, I pray you are at peace now with your sweetheart

Dear Garrison Family,
My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. Bradford was such a wonderful person. He was a talented man with many credits to his name--friend, brother, father, husband--all of these things he achieved in such a short time and he played each part to perfection. Bradford was always such a charismatic soul, full of energy and passion. My fondest memories include our talks with "Trevor the Troll", random outbursts of singing, and long conversations at "our place." Although it's been years since I had a chance to catch up with Bradford, I will always miss him. I'm sending my prayers straight through the clouds that everyone, especially TT Jo and Tay Tay will have peace during this emotional time.
Miss you B.G.

To the Garrison Family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Bradford was one remarkable person and anyone who had the opportunity to meet him have been eternally blessed. I am grateful for being able to call him friend and he holds a special place in my heart. He was not only that kid I knew on D-track at Crescent Elementary but he was my dear friend and partner in crime in Mt. Jordan Middle School's theatre class. His bubbly personality and friendly demeanor made life at Jordan High tolerable. Seeing him happily married and glowing with excitement at being a father was wonderful to witness. From beginning to end, he was amazing. Thank you for sharing him with us and know that my prayers are with you. He will be missed.

I remember being in high school with Brad and thinking he had amazing talent in drama, in fact, my friends and I nicknamed him "drama-god". We all looked up to him and wanted to be like him. He was a senior, yet he would take time to talk to us sophomores. He and Heather were such wonderful people, that it was only natural that they would end up together. Bradford will be dearly missed, but I am glad that I got to know him, even for a little while.

I was blessed to have considered Bradford, Heather and the Garrison family friends. I first met Bradford in Seminary when I was a Sophmore in high school. Immediately when I sat down on the first day of class, he quickly opened up and asked who I was. He was intrinsically determined to make sure I was having a good day and to get to know me more. We instantly became friends. Seminary was definitely a lot more fun with Bradford in the room. Throughout my high school years, I was good friends with Bradford, Heather, and most of their close friends and family. I feel deeply sorrow this morning for the Garrison family but feel surpassingly happy knowing that Bradford and Heather will be reuniting. I wanted to give my condolences to the family and those who knew Bradford. You will all be in my prayers.

Mr garrison literally changed my life my heart brakes to know he is no longer with us, but I know he is happy and at peace with his wife. He made me the individual that I am today, no one had a better way then he did to make me and all his students truly feel loved and accepted. He built my confidence higher everyday, there wasn't a day that he didn't automatically put a smile on my face as soon as I saw him. He helped me so much my 10th grade year that I will never forget. He reached out to me and guided me, And I'm forever blessed and greatful for that! this man did amazing things. I will never forget him and how much of an impact he made on me, may God watch over his children in this time of need, my heart fully goes out to his loving children and family. Rest in peace Bradford, you will be greatly missed! <3
