SINA PATETEFA

Sina Lelea Patetefa 1925 ~ 2011 Our beloved mother and grandmother, Sina Lelea Patetefa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren on June 21, 2011.She was born May 28, 1925 in Kolovai, Tonga to Mosese Ahau and Tapaita Lepolo. In 1944, she married Taniela Patetefa, whom she often referred to as her "handsome." Sina was a devoted member of the United Tongan Methodist Church Laumalie Ma'oni'oni. She always looked forward to attending church and participating in their social activities. Sina loved to sing, tie quilts, and relate stories to her grandchildren about her childhood in Tonga. She has left behind a legacy of honesty, devotion and faith in the Lord. She is survived by her children: Vatuniloka, Kauvakahiva, Ana Moala Kinikini, Lopelini Hafoka, Pua Fifita, Lopetisoni, and Illaisaane Lotaki. She is preceded in death by her husband, Taniela, and her son, Faingamoevalu. She was the proud grandmother of 40 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Ofa lahi atu Grandma Sina. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m., at the United Tongan Methodist Church, 1533 West Crystal Avenue (2590 South), Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held Sunday, June 26, from 6:00 - 11:30 p.m at the same location where family and friends may attend. Interment: Redwood Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Larkin Mortuary.
