Barbara Louise Penfield Couser "Together Forever" Barbara Louise Penfield Couser, 84, passed away peacefully on Oct. 23, 2009 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was born in Springfield, MA, Feb 15, 1925 to Alfred and Louise Penfield. Barbara loved her family here on earth and those who had gone on before and was a dedicated genealogist, gathering thousands of family names, truly becoming a 'savior on Mt. Zion'. She was an active member and served numerous missions for the LDS Church and was a gifted artist and poet. She especially loved to go for scenic car rides. She is survived by her twin sister Marjorie Butterfoss, brothers, Alfred and Roy Penfield; children, Sallie (Max) Evans, Daniel (Rebecca) Couser, and Rodney (Jeanine) Couser, 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Wilson Couser; parents; siblings, James Penfield, Elfreda Murphy, and Dorcas Pittsinger. We love you Gigi, you will be missed.

I first met Barbara while she and Rod were serving a Family History mission in Western New York. They were an incredible example to me of faith and dedication to the gospel of Jesus Christ. When I moved to Utah to continue my studies, Barb became a second mother to me. We even lived in the same apartment complex for a while. We talked most every day then. I have many fond memories of that time. She is gone now but will always have a special place in my heart.

The stories that Barbara shared with me about family history and her powerful testimony of temple work are permanently etched in my mind; I have shared them with many others when speaking about family history. Barbara, I am excited for you as you meet all those for whom you have performed saving ordinances --- what a glorious reunion for you!!
