Albert Garrison Obituary
Des Moines
Albert L. Garrison, Jr., 57, went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Iowa Methodist Hospital. A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Corinthian Baptist Church, 814 School Street, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.
Albert was born January 31, 1956 to Albert Sr. and Margaret (McCraney) Garrison in Des Moines. He graduated from North High School, Iowa State University, and earned his Juris Doctorate from Creighton University. He practiced law for over 20 years; most of those through his own firm, Garrison Law Office. Albert shared his passion for wrestling as an assistant wrestling coach at North, Urbandale, Valley, Roosevelt, and most recently at Waukee High School.
Albert is survived by his wife of 27 years, Anita; daughter, Julia Garrison; mother, Margaret Garrison; siblings, Peter, Marshall, Jinny, Allison, Sydney, Marlene, Stephen, Kelly, and Sarah; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

While I did not know Mr. Garrison personally, I am friends with his wife and his brother, Marshall. I wanted to take a moment and acknowledge the success that this “hometown boy” made. He accomplished great strides in the field of law and education. I was encouraged that he continued to work with young men being an example on what hard work in and out of the classroom can do. How proud his parents must have been. My condolences to Anita and Marshall and your family.
