Kenneth Webb Obituary

Kenneth "Ken" M. Webb, 87, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 18, 2011. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorials: Salvation Army or Cook Children's Medical Center. Ken was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Waco to Fern and Kenneth M. Webb Sr. After high school, he joined the Merchant Marine, graduating from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1944, transferring to the U.S. Navy in 1945. Following World War II, he graduated from the University of Texas, earning a B.S. in mechanical engineering. He married Hazel E. Hulse on Dec. 31, 1950. Ken had a successful career with Texas Electric Service Company (predecessor to Oncor Electric Delivery) spanning 35 years. He was very active in the community serving on the boards of numerous civic organizations, including Kiwanis, The Salvation Army, the Boy Scouts of America and Junior Achievement. Survivors: Sons, Mark and John Webb; granddaughter, Valerie Webb; and grandsons, Ross, Christopher and Michael Webb.

Mark,
Your dad and I worked together for many of his 35 years with TESCO , including the time in West Texas. He ws always a professional, competant, trustworthy collegue and a true personal friend. I will always remember him fondly. My condolences to you and all your family.
