Jo Singletary Obituary

Jo Marie Singletary, 82, passed away Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, in Arlington. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Saturday in Moore Memorial Gardens. Jo Marie (known to some as "Tootsie") was born May 25, 1928, in Coryell County and grew up near Gatesville. She was a teenage basketball star and a student at a two-year business college. She worked for the government for a while. She was married to the love of her life for almost 45 years and was a fabulous mother and friend to many. She could cook, arrange flowers beautifully, sew, paint, go rock-hounding, dance and shop all day long. She had a contagious smile and a kind heart. She was an amazing lady. She loved greatly and was greatly loved - what could be better than that? Survivors: Daughters, Kathy Stuteville and husband, Steve, and their daughter, Shanley, and Cindy Norris and husband, Lynn, all of Arlington; brother, Ronnie McGlothlin and wife, Cheryl, of San Marcos; aunts, Ms. Waldeen Cummings and Ms. Josie Cummings of Gatesville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

What a beautiful picture of your mother - that is exactly as I remember her when we were young. I have wonderful memories of your family and ours together. Our prayers are with you.

Cindy and Kathy -

My thoughts and prayers are with you both. I never knew two daughters who were more loved and cared for by their parents, nor any parents who were more revered by their daughters. God be with you.
