James E. "Jim" Hall

1927 - 2014

Dr. James E. "Jim" Hall, 87, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, in Everman. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Jim was born Feb. 10, 1927, in Dallas to the late Dr. Ewin Hall and Mrs. Jim Hall. He was raised in Fort Worth, graduating from Carter-Riverside High School in 1944. Jim served in the Navy and upon his return home attended TCU on the GI bill. He then graduated from Texas Tech in 1952, then from Texas A&M with his DVM in 1961. Jim worked for the USDA for 23 years as a federal veterinarian before his retirement April 30, 1990. He took care of his beloved wife, Pauline, along with caregiver Kelli Dougherty for seven years after she suffered a stroke. His second love, Skyler Rayne, was the light of his life. Jim was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Association of Former Students Texas A&M, former president of Tarrant County Veterinary Medical Association, Texas VMA, Knights of Columbus and Widowed Persons Service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Pauline Hall; and his parents. Survivors: Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; loving caregivers, Kelli, Kasi and the Dougherty family; granddaughter, Skyler Rayne Dougherty; and all of his friends at IHOP, On the Border and Ridglea Country Club.
