Hazel Mary Gaskins

GASKINS Hazel Mary Gaskins, age 89, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at The Ohio State University Medical Center. She was born in Cincinnati to Robert and Maude Morris, who died shortly after her birth, and she was raised by her grandmother. She met her husband, Edward Gaskins, in high school, and the two were married for 57 years. Edward preceded her in death in 1996, and in 1999, Hazel was remarried to Harold Pfeiffer. Harold also preceded her in death in 2006. Hazel loved to spend time visiting with her family. She was a very caring person and had a deep love for the Lord. Hazel and Ed were longtime members of Grove City Baptist Church. She worked for Lazarus as a seamstress for over 20 years. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Craley (Jim Hodge) and Carol (Jack) Hughes; grandchildren, Christine (Brian) Fraser, James Craley, Brian (Melinda) Craley, Eric Craley, Christian (Laurie) Hughes, Jonathan (Renee) Hughes, and Aaron Hughes; great-grandchildren, Sydney Fraser, Emilee Fraser, Allison Johnson, Alexandria Craley, Brian Craley Jr. and Brynna Hughes; and caretaker and special friend, Amber Chaney. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.- 12Noon on Wednesday, April 29, at SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City.
