David Smith Obituary

SMITH David Gerald Smith, age 57, formerly of Westerville, OH, passed away suddenly March 4, 2011. Born March 18, 1954. Graduated from Westerville High. Entered the U.S. Marines, served seven years in Japan where he taught English to the Japanese. He was influential in implementing a GPS tracking unit system to find lost persons. Former minister in Columbia, SC. Preceded in death by his father Gerald R. Smith of Gahanna, OH. Survived by daughter, Victoria Calzoncinth (Eli) Baytown, Tx; granddaughter, Audrey Calzoncinth; son, Brian Smith (Shilo) London, England; mother, Carol A. Smith, Reynoldsburg, OH; sisters, Christine Fleming (Gary) of Gahanna, OH;,Pamela Holley (Jerry) of Reynoldsburg, OH; step-mother, Carol B. Smith of Gahanna, OH; step-sisters, Tricia Meachum of Albany, NY, Constance Ziobrowski (Tom) of Rexford, NY, Kathryn Hayostek (Randy) of Schenectady, NY; also survived by fiancée, Jennifer Stencil of Mason, OH; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 10-11 a.m. at Central College Presbyterian Historical Chapel. Memorial service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Condolences may be sent at www.avancefuneralhome.com

I will miss my baby brother so very much... He was not much of a baby, but that is how I will always remember him... He always called me his baby sister...not because of younger,but because I was shorter than him... He will be missed!
