MILLER Donald Arden "Peanut" Miller, age 86, Sunday, March 1, 2009, at the residence. Member Worthington Christian Church, 32nd Degree Mason Linden Lodge #637, Aladdin Shrine, Scottish Rite. Retired from the U.S. Postal Service and Westerville Schools. WW II Army Veteran 35th Infantry. Survived by wife of 66 years, Helen (Penny) Miller; daughters, Justina Miller and Sharron (Dave) Juergens; grandchildren, Jason (Sharlee) Sherman, Brad Sherman and Andrea (Steve) Jagger; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Zachary Jagger, Eric Hoffman and Christopher Sherman; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the LONG FUNERAL HOME, 5528 Cleveland Avenue (one block south of SR 161). Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, at the Worthington Christian Church, 8145 N. High St., Columbus, Oh. with calling one hour prior to service. Rev. Jim Dempsey officiating. Masonic Service 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Intement Fairview Memorial Park, 5035 Columbus Pike, Delaware, Oh.

Uncle Peanut..........Will never forget your love and caring for all of us. We always knew that we had a friend in you..........Thank you for all you did for me when I was a child, I will never forget you as long as I live. When you reach your final destination, please be sure to give a hug to mom, dad, Butch, Buddy and all the others we have lost.....and save me a place in your camp....(as long as it is by the beach). God surely has gotten a good one this time! And to Aunt Helen, Justina and Sharon, my heart goes out to you. What a wonderful batch of good memories he has left us though! I pray that God will grant you peace.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To Aunt Helen, Sharon and Justina,
I know at a time like this words can only ease the emptiness and sadness you all feel, I was so glad i was able to see uncle peanut at St. Ann's hospital. He alway's had a way to put a smile on your face. When someone you love becomes a memory,That memory becomes a treasure. May God's loving touch comfort your heart and souls.

I was so sorry to hear of Don's passing. I worked with him for a time at the Columbus Post Office. I have very fond memories of him. I pray that God will fill the void that I am sure it has left in your lives.
