Tracy Turner Obituary

TURNER (TRUSKOWSKI) Tracy Turner, 40, daughter of JoAnna (John) Hubly of Dublin and Robert (Diane) Truskowski of Minneapolis, died in a plane crash in Puerto Rico on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 along with her fiance, Kent Clapp, President and CEO of Medical Mutual Ohio. Tracy was born in Minneapolis the youngest of four children. She is survived by her sisters, Margo (Roger) Simmons, Lyn (Don) Griffith; and brother, Chris (Marybeth) Turner; as well as her nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Sydney, Ryan (Tracy's Godson), Caroline, Patrick; and her step-brother and sister, Michael Hubly and K. Healey Young. She grew up in Dublin, Ohio, and graduated with a fine arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1992 where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She also worked as an intern for Mode Magazine in Australia. Tracy lived in New York for thirteen years and was an actress and model before establishing a career in fashion design and marketing. She moved to Cleveland a year and a half ago. In this brief time, she impressed many with her energy, creativity and zest for work. She became a board member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum where she served as a member of the development and induction committees. She was also chairwoman of a panel planning a women's fashion show at the museum next fall. As a member of the board of trustees at the Cleveland Play House, she worked with a group last month that filled the lobby with 57 Christmas trees, including one of her own creation. Tracy had great flair, but also possessed a caring and giving attitude that will long be remembered. Family will receive friends 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. A memorial service will begin at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Michael Tegeder officiating. Memorial gifts can be made in Tracy's honor to Make A Wish Foundation of Greater OH, KY, IN, 2545 Farmers Dr. Suite 300 Columbus, OH 43235 or a charity of your choice. I was beginning to get to know Tracy, as I saw her 3 times a week for the month of November. I became her private Pilates Instructor through a mutual friend of a friend, and really enjoyed our intimate moments together as only a personal trainer and client can! She always wanted to be better, and try harder no matter what. She was definitely someone who did not rest and always gave 100%! I was shocked and devastated when I heard the news (on NPR!), as I was planning on seeing her the next morning for our first appointment after her and Ken's vacation. May she rest, finally, in peace.

Although I haven't seen Tracy since probably 1990, I will always have fond memories of her - particularly our Zantigo's runs! She was a beautiful girl then and obviously grew into a beautiful and successful woman. I am so very sorry to all of you for your loss.
