My deepest sympathy to all David's family. Looking back with a smile David laughing, discussing what ever but mostly just
enjoying the moment.
He being a St.Charles and myself a Aquinas graduate, (all ways which one wouldn't hold a candle to the other.)
Those words that came out of his mouth, the $2.78.7 one's he enjoyed handing out
all along laughing with glee.
When thoughts about David come about I will remember
Those Happy Time's.

Dave hired me right out of college to be a receptionist/bookkeeper at Corna&Co. He tolerated all my secretarial shortcomings and was a wonderful teacher - I will always be grateful to Dave for his patience. We've lost a wonderful man.

To The Corna Family. I grew up with cousin David. He always made it a priority to keep in touch with me even as we grew older. He always called just to say Hi and update me on the lastest project he was involved with. He truely cared about his family. I will miss his phone calls.

Dear Kitsie and family,
I am very sorry to read about Dave and I would like to send you all my deepest sympathy and condolences. Dave's grandmother Grace Ricci DiPietro and my grandmother Assunta Ricci DiPlacido were sisters. Florence and my dad Ennio were first cousins. Dave introduced me to the Columbus Italian Club when I lived in Columbus in 1980. I recall meeting Dave several times at Opera Columbus in the early 1980's. I informed the relatives and all the cousins living in Italy. I will always remember Dave because he was always a good friend to me when I was a foreign student from Italy in Columbus, Ohio.
Take care, Daniel DiPlacido ([email protected])

Dear Kitsie and family, There are only a few of the original members of the Columbus Italian Club still active but I hope I can speak for those who new Dave well and those who didn't have a chance to get to know him. He was always a fun guy to sit and talk with no matter if he knew you for years or just introduced to a new member. He always had a scholarly approach to whatever subject that came up and not surprising, always had a new slant for us to digest. It could be politics, bocce, the state of the Club or in my case, it was always fly fishing. We would often trade idea's on the next fly we were going to tie over the winter months.
Dave's name always comes up when we are asked about the beginnings of the C.I.C.. In every case it is said, it was David who came up with the original idea to start an organization of American-Italian business men. His approach to the idea was to create a network of business men to share interests, specialties and professions while holding on to our Italian heritage. As a Club, Dave's idea has always held true to his vision. We have a "Business Connect" spin off to the Club. This group meets once a month at a different Club members company. It allows these companies to introduce their expertise or product that may be of interest to the rest of the Club allowing the C.I.C. to continue Dave's perspective.
As you know, Dave not only thought about "business". His social interest was his true love. To gather friends and acquaintances and share intelligent conversation. From singing to ancient history or how to prepare a favorite dish to which route to take to the Carolina's. That was always important when the Blue fish were running.
Dave surely will be missed at our Club but his spirit will be evident each time we grant a scholarship to a deserving student, or invite a new member who might be new to Columbus and need an organization like ours to give him a start in a strange city. David Corna will always be the heart of the Columbus Italian Club.
Our sympathy to you and your family from our board of directors and each member of our Club during this difficult time. If there is anything our Club can do to help, please contact me at 614-313-3131
Sincerely, Paul DiSabato

I am so sorry to here of David's passing. My deepest sympathy goes out to Kitsie, Chris, Matt, Sara and Beau. He was a very special person to me and my family. Thirty years ago at the age of 27 with no working experience, David recognized something in me that no one else did, including myself. He gave me the opportunity to work with him and teach me things that would be life changing. I was able to establish a long successful career that continues today. I will always be grateful to him and he will hold a very special place in my heart forever. May you rest in piece.
Love,
Donna
