Richard Stackpole Obituary

Stackpole Richard C. Stackpole, age 75, formerly of Galena, died Thursday evening, November 13, 2014 at Bennington Glenn. He was born on November 4, 1939 in Wetzel County, WV to the late Amos and Stella (Coen) Stackpole. He was a retired welder and had worked at Worthington Industries. Richard loved blue grass music and was a member of the Bluegrass Ramble and he was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye Football Fan. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, watching the Buckeyes and being outside. He is survived by sons, Rick of Sunbury, Dave, Scott, both of Westerville; daughters, Tammy Stackpole of Westerville, Terry Ratliff of Proctorville, Oh; step-son, Leonard Miller of Columbus; step-daughter, Wanda (Larry) Scarberry of Peoples, Oh; 24 grandchildren, 16+ great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; sister, Betty Boggs of Bakersfield, Ca. He was preceded in death by wife Eva Jeannette Stewart Stackpole, second wife Clara Irene Pierce Stackpole, step-son Marvin Pierce, brother Paul Stackpole. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to 11 a.m. service at the DeVORE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury with Pastor Jeff Deel officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.
