Henry Noffsinger Obituary

Resident of Martinez
Henry O. Noffsinger passed away peacefully on Wednesday. His family and friends loved his generosity and positive outlook.
Henry was born in Oakland, CA and attended schools in Oakland and Alameda. Leaving school before graduating, Henry joined the US Merchant Marines at age 16 during Word War II. After serving his country under the US Coast Guard in the Pacific Theater, he returned home to California and back to school. He attended San Francisco State College and San Francisco Law School while working in the building trades. He graduated from law school and was admitted to the bar in 1964. He practiced law until his retirement in 2004.
Henry was an accomplished ballroom dancer, competing in many international dance competitions through the years and had many dance friends. He enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was a fan of Jack London and a highlight of his legal career was drafting the necessary documents to bring the Jack London cabin to Oakland. He was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Pleasant Hill.
Henry is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter Priscilla Ferguson of Clarksville, AR; son Steve Noffsinger of Stockton; daughter Sue Lang of Lincolnville, SC; and son Don Noffsinger of Clarksville, AR; grandchildren Mike, Matt and Kristen Ferguson, Annie Rogers, Erica Chapman and Tyler and Kaytlin Calhoun; and 8 great grandchildren.
Henry's family and friends are invited to celebrate their love and memories of Henry at a memorial service and reception on Saturday, Dec 10 at 2:00 pm at St Andrews Presbyterian Church, 1601 Mary Drive in Pleasant Hill.
