Dear Mary,
We are so sorry to hear the sad news about Professor Engelmann. It was a privilege for us to know him as Indira's thesis supervisor and our family friend. We will miss him greatly. We will keep in touch with you and see you every time we visit Edmonton. Indira was lucky in a way to spend few good days with Fred just before he passed away.

Mary and Family:
Ruth and I were very saddened to learn of Fred's passing away through our mutul friend Roy Piepenburg. Fred had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful person. We would love to see you if you come to California. Love, Tom and Ruth

I did not know Fred well, but every time I met him he was so charming and courteous; a real gentleman. The world would be a much better place if there were more people of his calibre. My condolences for your loss.

Dear Mary and family:
I am sadened to learn of Fred's passing. Please accept my sincere sympathy.
It has been a privilege, indeed, to have known Fred since the mid-90's through our SALT (Seniors Action and Liaison Team) and other groups. His contribution to Alberta society, such as his insightful chapter regarding Seniors in the book, Trojan Horse, will live on for many years.
He will be dearly missed.
