Frederick BOE Obituary
August 13,1922 - March 26, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Fred Boe on March 26, 2012 in Edmonton, AB at the age of 89 years.
Fred is survived by his wife, Verda of 64 years; his children, Dave (Elaine), Lynda (Terry) and Gary; grandchildren Jennifer (Rob), Stephanie (Greg), Lorinda (Cory) and Lisa (Shawn); great-grandchildren, Soleil, Carson, Ashlyn, Abby, Steel, Colton and Saffire who will all miss Fred dearly. Fred is also survived by his brother Harold of St. Thomas, Ontario.
Fred was born in the area of Girvin, Sask. He served with the Royal Regina Rifles in WWII from 1944 to 1946. He left the army as a sergeant and was a life-long member of the Royal Regina Rifles Association. Fred, along with his brother Harvey, farmed in the area of Weldon, Sask. until 1993, where he and his wife, Verda retired and moved to Spruce Grove, AB. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Westlawn Memorial Gardens, 10132 - 163 Street, Edmonton, AB. Memorial donations may be made to the Edmonton General Hospital Continuing Care, 11111 Jasper Avenue N.W., Edmonton, AB T5K 0L4.
A special thank you to the staff of the Edmonton General Care Center and Unit 10Y for there wonderful and exceptional care provided to Fred.

My condolences to Verna & the rest of the family. Sorry to hear about Fred's passing.
I have so many fond memories of being neighbors on the farm. I enjoyed bringing meals out to the fields during harvest when Fred drove the combine for dad. He never refused my request for a combine ride with the next load. We had many chats, and I'm sure I talked his ear off the whole time.

We are so sorry to hear about Uncle Fred. Sending hugs and prayers to Aunt Verda and all the family. We always enjoyed when he and Aunt Verda would come To Ontario to visit with my Mom and Dad. I remember the time I went out to visit and to bring Grandma Boe back home. It was late when the bus dropped me off in Weldon. At that time Uncle Fred and Uncle Harvey lived in Weldon. I could remember roughly which house was Uncle Harvey's, so walked there and knocked on the front door. No one came so started walking away, carrying my suitcase. It ended up that I was at the right house when Grandma recognized my voice. They all thought I was a Jehova Witness with my suitcase, and didn't want to open the door.
