Clarence MacKINNON Obituary

MacKINNON, Clarence Stuart Stuart MacKinnon, a retired University of Alberta History Professor, long-time enthusiastic canoeist and hiker in the Canadian North, passed away on September 12, 2004 as a result of injuries sustained in a bicycle accident earlier in the summer. Stuart was born in Montreal on December 29, 1934. He was the son of the late Alstair and Ruth MacKinnon, the loving brother of Mairi Edge (William) of Ottawa and beloved uncle of Tom Edge (Gabrielle) of Toronto, Cynthia Phillips (Michael) of Munich, Germany and Diana Dowling (Joseph) of Greenwich, USA. Stuart will be sadly missed by his many friends and relatives. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 17, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Knox Metropolitan United Church, 8307-109 Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the I.C. Unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, 10240 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton T5H 3V9 or the charity of your choice.
