I was so sorry to hear about Jorge's terrible death. I was in a trilingual training with him as the main instructor many years ago, and learned so much from him. I got to witness an amazing interpreter and experience a compassionate professor and mentor. My hope is that his family will always know how the world of interpreting and American Justice System felt about him.

Jorge was my teacher at the trilingual interpreter training in Big Spring, TX three years in a row. He was one of my favorite things about the training; he had so much to teach, and he always imparted his wisdom with kindness and a ready smile. He had a talent for finding out where his student was and meeting him/her at their own level. I was shocked to learn of his death. I am grieving the loss of my brother, who died the day after Jorge, but there is enough room in my heart to feel Jorge's absence deeply as well. He will be sorely missed. Sending my deep condolences and warm thoughts to his family.

I will always be thankful for the opportunity of a week in Big Spring, Texas, with Professor Dieppa instructing all of us trilingual interpreters in Spanish/English interpreting. I was awed by his amazing skills, his desire to make a difference in our profession, in which we work with Deaf individuals who depend on trilingual interpreting (American Sign Language, Spanish and English). A week with him, and he gave a year's worth of study material and resources. I was looking forward to attending again, because of him. I know he lives on in the memories of students of his who will never forget him.

Dear Martie, I have the fondest memories of Jorge from our time together 1982/83 in the Int. 13th. Corps. He always had a big smile on his face and when he spoke it was with words of encouragement and filled with the joy of the Lord. Never a bad word, always a true representation of the Love of Father God. Amidst the grief I am so comforted that I will have the privilege again to see that smile on his face. Much love, God's peace and consolation to you and your family.

While I personally did not know Mr. Dieppa, I learned of his outstanding professional work, community service, and loving care for his family through a mutual friend. May you all find the peace and serenity to strengthen and comfort your souls during these difficult times. God bless you all. Rest in Peace, Sr. Dieppa.

Rest in peace, Jorge. Your devotion to your wife, sons and our Heavenly Father's Word has always inspired me. Your kind, wise teachings at James' service just four weeks ago brought us such comfort and peace. Your words then resonate with me now. Psalms 23: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want... I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Jorge was one of the best and fastest Spanish interpreters I have ever met, he was always willing to help at the Children's Disabilities Symposium of El Paso when asked to interpret, and he was an excellent Spanish interpretation professor always willing to go the extra mile for the students. He will be greatly missed but remembered among all the people that he so positively influenced. My prayers are with his wife and children.

A sword instructor? I never knew! No surprise there, in that he was always apt to teach. Jorge was very kind to me as my Hebrew class teacher. He once sat with me for two hours after class to get me up to speed. And even though I passed with only a "fair" grade, he took me aside to let me know that every one on this earth brings something "different to the party", and that we are all special in our own way, so, "don't sweat it, you are awesome", he told me. May God bless and comfort your Family Jorge, and I'll see you at that Family Reunion, miles above the ground...
