John Rickloff Obituary

John Herbert Rickloff, 76, passed away August 5, 2011 at his home in Ocala, Florida. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania on October 18,1934, he was the son of Dr. Raymond J. & Dorothy Rickloff. He graduated in 1954 from Strong Vincent High School in Erie before pursuing a career in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He also took a piloting job with United Airlines, a position he held for twenty eight years ending as captain of the 757/767. John was an avid golfer, enjoyed boating, and loved traveling the country in his RV. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline. Also his three daughters - Elizabeth Bacon of Stuart Fla. and Pamela Rex and Sally Stevens of Severna Park, Md. as well as two sons - John Rickloff Jr. of Chestertown, Md. and Thomas Rickloff of Stuart Fla. and nine grandchildren; Paul and Eric Rex, Michael, Brian, Lindsey, and Anna Stevens, and Georgia, Thomas, and Matthew Rickloff. Five sisters- Jean Boughner of Naples, Fla. Ruth Smith of East Ridge, N.Y. Mary Butler and Nancy Rich of Sun City, Ariz. and Suzy Black of Charlotte, N.C. And one brother- Bill Rickloff of Sarasota, Fla. And many loving nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by both his parents and one brother, Allen Rickloff. Family and Friends are invited to a celebration of his life to be held Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Pavilion 1 in the Presque Isle State Park at 3 p.m.
