Mary Carla Young

Formerly of Erie, Pennsylvania, Carla passed away at her home in Orlando, Fla. on April 13, 2013 surrounded by family. She was a loving/caring child. Those and many other good traits followed her into adulthood. Carla graduated from McDowell High School in Erie, Pa. then went onto graduate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pa. Her degree was in early childhood education. Shortly after college Carla moved to the Orlando area to pursue her career. Once there, she worked in daycare for a short time. Her next path lead her to Disney World where she performed as various characters around the park including Mickey Mouse. She then went to Universal Studios and worked on the Jaws ride and moved to VIP Tours and Registration until her passing. Somewhere in amongst Disney and Universal, she worked at Sea World with children. Carla also volunteered at Theatre Downtown in Orlando, Fla. Carla loved the theater and was involved in twenty plus productions. Sadly, Carla's battle with cancer and treatments caused severe damage to her other organs. However, it did not destroy her positive attitude or her caring about others difficulties or problems. Carla is survived by her parents (Alan Keith Young and Mary Ellen (Renaud) Young), one brother and sister-in-law (Brian Young and Jayme (Vogt) Young). Several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Not to forget all of her friends. We will miss you Carla but will never forget you. You are a true here to so many people.
