Jimmy Watson Obituary
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 14, at SouthPoint Church with the Rev. Chris Toole and the Rev. Bryce D. Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in Georgetown Cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at SouthPoint Church.
Born March 23, 1938 in Tumbletown, Ala., Mr. Watson was the son the late Luther Holman and Gladys DeShazo Watson. Mr. Watson had been employed with Flowers Baking Company. He was employed with the Auburn Experiment Station in Headland for 3 years. He was employed with the W.C. Bradley Farms in Omaha, Ga., for 13 years. He owned and operated J.R.'s Boiled Peanuts and he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Helen Campbell Watson, his grandson, Dallas Watson, his brother, Tracy Watson and his daughter-in-law, Miranda Brookins Watson.
Survivors include 3 sons, Tim (Julie) Watson, Ralph, Ala.; Brett Watson, Eufaula, Chris (Barbara) Watson, Dothan; 2 daughters, Sharon Kay (Lee) Wilkins, Destrehan, La., Susanna (Clay) Buie, Dothan; 11 grandchildren, Matt (Adrienne) Wilkins, Kaley (Kirk Fabre) Wilkins, Noah Wilkins, Will (Rachet Smith) Buie, Drew Buie, Anna Buie, Brandon (Katie) Watson, Whitney Watson, Brooke Watson, Scott Fowler, Corey Fowler; great grandchild, Hunter Watson; brother, Kyle (Mary) Watson, Savannah, Ga.,; 3 sisters, Shirley (John) Moncus, Georgetown, Ga., Wanda (Maxie) Helms, Hines City, Fla., Gayle Wade, Webb, Ala.
Active pallbearers were Kirk Fabre, Corey Fowler, Brandon Watson, Noah Wilkins, Will Buie, Drew Buie and Matt Wilkins.
