Floyd Kight Obituary

Mr. Floyd Glen Kight, 63, of Bartlesville, died early Friday morning, October 19, 2012 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Kight will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Word of Truth Fellowship (located at Bison Road and Durham Road) with Pastor Jim Anderson officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the James H. Teel American Legion Post # 105. Funeral services and cremation will be under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home until 9 P.M. on Monday and from 9 AM until 12 Noon on Tuesday.
A memorial fund has been established and those who wish may send their contributions to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 3393, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74006.
Mr. Kight was born in Fresno, California on August 26, 1949 to J.D. and Ina N. (Farmer) Kight. He grew up and received his education in the San Joaquin Valley in California. He was married to Connie Sue Spellins at Coalinga, California on December 29, 1967. They made their home in the San Joaquin Valley and he entered the United States Army on June 23, 1969. After serving in Viet Nam he received his Honorable Discharge on January 24, 1972 and returned to the San Joaquin Valley where they made their home for several years. They moved to Arkansas to make their home in 1977 and then to Kansas in 1979 and he was active in the construction business. The family moved to Bartlesville in 1985 and Mr. Kight was a General Contractor in the residential construction business until his retirement in 2010. He loved to go camping and fish and spend time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Word of Truth Fellowship.
Mr. Kight is survived by his wife, Connie Kight of the home, his twin daughter and son, Debi Holmes and her husband Noah of Bartlesville and Eddie Kight and his wife Alicia of Bartlesville and daughter Jennifer Kight McDonald of Bartlesville, three brothers, Sam Kight and wife Billie of DeQueen, Arkansas, Dennis Kight and wife Joyce of Diamond City, Arkansas, and Horace Kight and wife Barbara of Lockesburg, Arkansas, three sisters, Mary Lee Taylor and husband Robert of McAlester, Oklahoma, Mozel Staggs of Texarkana, Arkansas and Mildred Matthews of Visalia, California, his mother-in-law, Oleta Spellins of Sedan, Kansas, brother-in-law, Jerry Spellins and wife Judy of Sedan, Kansas, seven grandchildren, Devan Kight, Chelsea Kight, Lacey Bennett, Zack Kight, Skyler Kight, Brashly Kight and Faylon Kight, four great grandchildren, Brooklyn Carpenter, Alexus Carpenter, Zoey Kight and Shyauna Agoado, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and special friends, Jim, Garland, Scott, Judy, Molly & T.J.. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Emmit Spellins, two brother-in-laws, William Matthews and Leon Staggs, a son-in-law, Brian McDonald and one great granddaughter, Lillyauna Agoado.

Connie, Eddie, Debbie, Jennifer, and families:
I just wanted you to know that Floyd was a very special man and very accepting of everyone. He was always reliable, trustworthy, and took pride in his work and family. He will be greatly missed but will be watching over you all. I feel truly better for knowing him and watching the inspirational and respectful marriage between Connie and Floyd. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
