I have often thought of this great man over the years. Today August 17th, 2024 I discovered Brother Whistler has been at home in heaven for 10 years now.
I met Brother Whistler many years ago while I was a elementary aged school kid. There used to be old time brush harbor meetings in a tiny place called Monthalia, TX.
My dad would load up the pick up truck with a tent and camping supplies and we would camp right near the Guadalupe River for a week.
Brother Whistler was an evangelist in those days. This must have been around 1970-1971. Brother C. A. Baylor was the local pastor of our small hometown Assembly of God Church there in Seadrift, TX.
How I enjoyed listening Brother Whistler playing that saxophone and singing. Didn't know how blessed I was as a kid back then. I sure miss those days and the people now.
I know one day very soon I will see all of those wonderful people again. HALLELUYAH
