James Kenneth Heady

1924 - 2016

James Kenneth Heady, age 91 and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at his residence in Green Country Village.
James "Ken" Kenneth Heady was born in October 1924 in Bartlesville. He was the son of Orla Newton Heady and Gladys (Wooster) Heady. Ken received his early education in Bartlesville, graduating with the College High Sr. Class of 1942. After high school, he furthered his education by attending Oklahoma University before joining the military. After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, he reenrolled at OU, where he received his law degree.
Ken married Jacquelyn "Jackie" Jean Barker on March 27, 1948 in the First Presbyterian Church, Bartlesville. The young couple returned to live in Bartlesville in 1950.
Ken was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company in the legal department. He ultimately became the General Counsel and a Senior Vice President before his retirement. He was very involved in the Company, serving on many committees and in various capacities, as well as his community. He was a member of Hillcrest Country Club, having served as past president of the club. He loved his family, golf, gin rummy and OU football.
Ken is survived by his wife, Jackie; son, Doug Heady of Alexandria, Virginia; and daughter, Susan Heady of Amarillo, Texas.
No services are planned at this time. However, Mr. Heady's ashes will be privately interred at Memorial Park Cemetery, Bartlesville.
