Such fond memories of Serge, Patty and Andy, mostly around a magical three week ski in Zermatt at age 14 (1959?). The guide immediately pegged me as the weak link in the group, so he had me follow him 6 ft behind down steep powder. Spent the morning crashing, then got it and life was transformed.

Sincere condolences to the Gagarin Family. Serge and Patty were two of my favorites. Serge and my mother, Helen Maitland, shared the same "governess" when they were children. I lived around the corner from Serge and Patty in Greenfield Hill and will never forget running into Serge at Bromley Mountain after he had just taken a run at age 90. We laughed and he shared with me how much he loved skiing in Santa Fe and was always the first on the ski lift every weekday morning at the Santa Fe Basin and would then be able to get down the mountain early enough to play tennis in the afternoons. God Bless Serge and Patty and many wonderful memories.
