Dr. Virgil T. Deal Jr.

FAYETTEVILLE - Retired Army Col. Virgil Thomas "Tom" Deal Jr., M.D. 63, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012. Tom was a retired surgeon for the United States Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ida Sisk Deal of the home; a son, Frank Wesley Deal and wife Ercy of Fayetteville; daughter, Susanne Glass and husband Hunter of Fayetteville; brother, Michael Deal and wife Kathy of Marshall, Va.; granddaughters, Patricia Deal, Kathleen Deal and Samantha Glass; and an aunt, Betty Beasley of Franklin, Tenn. There will be two memorial services held. The first will be held today, Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at 4 p.m. at the Airborne Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville. The second service will be held Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Helen Street Church of Christ in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Helen Street Church of Christ, 500 Helen St., Fayetteville, NC 28303, for "Vimba Vana - Tom Deal" or to your Fisher House.
