Frances Brandmeier Obituary

Brandmeier, Frances "Hanky'

(March 21st, 1931 -

December 30th, 2012)

A Saint, who has been walking among us for almost 82 years, has left this earth. Frances "Hanky" Brandmeier passed away with her children by her side on Sunday, December 30, 2012.

For those of you who really knew our mother, you know the first statement to be true. For Hanky Brandmeier lived her entire life in service of others. She lived in tireless service to her six children, in service to all of her family, friends, co-workers and those she did not even know. She served as a nurse for 41 and 1/2 years at St. Agnes Hospital, where she developed many amazing relationships and deep friendships. As she said, she worked everywhere in the hospital, mostly as an RN supervisor. And according to her, she loved every minute of it.

She is survived in life by her six children, John, Jim, Michael, Mary, Joe and Jeff; by her 13 grandchildren, Jennifer, Christina, Patrick, Molly, Blair, Jordan, Jamie, Jessie, Josie, Rachel, Annalisa, Isabella and Ty; her brother, Bob Faris and wife, Mary Jo Faris; and sister, Bonnie Marx. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Phillip and Bidie Faris; ex-husband, Frank Brandmeier Jr.; and yes, her life-long, true love, Frank Sinatra, who is probably singing "Fly Me To The Moon" to her right now.

Visitation for Frances "Hanky" Brandmeier will be on Friday, January 4, 2013, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Saturday, January 5, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church. A private entombment service will follow at the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum. Jon and family -- My mother also worked at St. Agnes (in the 1930s) We listen to you each day from Abilene, Kan. Take comfort in the fact that Frances is now with our God -- and both are better off for that. Now, we must do nothing to reject the faith the Holy Spirit is trying to work in our hearts so we will all be together one day and for eternity. Tim and Carol Matas, 104 S. To all my dear cousins who are sharing the loss of Hanky, I wish I could be with you there in Fond du Lac to celebrate her memory. My family grew up with her, and formed bonds that will never be broken. I hardly ever visited home without visiting her; it will be so much easier to do that now. My Masses this weekend will be for her and all of you, until that time when she will welcome us, just the way so many of our “older family” has welcomed her.

"You meet the nicest people."
Whoever coined that phrase surely must have known Hanky. Without question, Hanky clearly was one of those rare individuals
who touched the lives of so many of us.
As a first cousin, I was lucky enough to have known Hanky and her
Family for a number of years. She was also a favorite cousin and like everyone else, we all have so many fond memories of family and fun. While she will be missed by so many of us, the beautiful
Life she lived and the legacy she leaves will always be with us.
