He died Friday, May 22, 2009.
Mr. Addison was born in Darlington County, a son of the late Sam P. Jackson and Adlea Addison. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines and fought in the Korean War. He was retired from United Airlines, after 30 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Addison; four daughters, Thelma Richardson of Philadelphia, Janice Addison and Pamela Addison, both of Woodbridge, Va., and Lisa Addison of Florence; two sons, the late Levance (Mary) Addison of Florence and Lavance (Sandy) Addison of Maryland; nine brothers, Sammy Jackson of Brooklyn, N.Y., Newton (Judy) Jackson of Roanoke, Va., Leroy (Verdean) Jackson and Sam (Lavonnie) Jackson, both of Columbia, Robert (Flossie) Jackson of Greensboro, Moses (Dorothy) Jackson, James (Yolanda) Jackson, George (Ellen) Jackson and Willie Jackson, all of Darlington; four sisters, Minnie Gotewood, Gloria (Wallace) Eaddy, Evelina Martin and Diane (Sam) Bishop, all of Darlington; 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
The family is receiving friends at 2113 Elderberry St., Florence.
