Dr. Elwyn "Jake" Marion Rozier DILLON - Dr. Elwyn "Jake" Marion Rozier, 88, died at Dundee Manor in Bennettsville, SC, Monday, March 5, 2012. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Main Street Methodist Church with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon, SC. Dr. Rozier was born in Florence, SC the son of the late Marion Pinckney and Fanny Grantham Rozier. He was a graduate of Lake View High School, Wofford College, and The Emory University School of Dentistry. Dr. Rozier served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He practiced Dentistry in Lancaster, SC for three and a half years before coming to Dillon, SC for the next fifty-three years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of The American Dental Association, S.C. Dental Association, and the Pee Dee District Dental Society. He was a member and past President of the Dillon Lions Club, member and past President of Twin Lakes Country Club, where he also won the Club Championship twice, member of Dillon County Historical Society, and an active member of Main Street Methodist Church, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of the Official Board, and other offices. Dr. Rozier is survived by his wife Miriam Jones Rozier; his daughter, Janice Rozier of Bennettsville, SC; his sons, Donald (Donna) Rozier of Lexington, SC and James E. (Beth) Rozier of Myrtle Beach SC; grandchildren, Sam Rozier of Fairfax, VA, and Sallie and Kate Rozier of Myrtle Beach, SC; step-grand-children, Ronald Callahan of Columbia, SC, Michele Callahan (Richard) Moseley and their two children; one neice and two nephews; and a sister, Jean Rozier Smith of Lumberton, NC. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Main Street Methodist Church, 401 East Main Street, Dillon, SC 29536 or the Dillon Lions Club, P.O. 1003, Dillon, SC 29536.
