Jean Lenore Kries

Jean Lenore Kries, age 89, passed away on December 9, 2015 at her home in Grant. She was born in Glendale, Queens, NY on October 13, 1926 to Arthur and Annamarie (Fuchs) Holze. She spent much of her working life as a school crossing guard for the Nassau County Police Department. She came to Florida in the 1960s and kept herself busy as a volunteer for the Grant Historical House and Grant Community Library, EMT for the Grant Fire Department, and volunteer for the Seafood Festival. She was also very active in Calvary Baptist Church and the Red Hats of Grant. She was loved and will be missed by her sons, Warren Arthur Kries (Lorraine) and Robert Kries (Barbara); grandchildren Robert Kries, Caralyn Jean Floyd (Faron), Matthew John Kries, and Brett Layne; and great grandchildren Mason, Tucker, Tate, and Mallory Jean Floyd. She was preceded in death by her brothers Arthur Holze of Rosedale, NY and Walter Holze of Wake Forest, NC. Memorial donations may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, Old Dixie Hwy, Grant. Arrangements in the care of Fountainhead Funeral Home, Palm Bay.

Jean was a wonderful person. I will miss her smiling face. She will be missed by our whole church congregation. When Jean said it you knew it was concrete. she told it like it was. A very special lady that I had the privilege of knowing. Love & prayers to you Jean. Betty White.
