Dorothy Lorenz Obituary
Family and friends may attend "Dottie's" Memorial Service at 2 p.m. on Monday (July 11) at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard Street, Seneca Falls, with Reverend Steven Beals, Pastor of West Fayette Presbyterian Church, Town of Fayette, N.Y., officiating. Burial will follow in Restvale Cemetery, Seneca Falls, N.Y. The Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992 will conduct an Elks Service at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Monday (July 11) just prior to "Dottie's" memorial service.
If desired, contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
"Dottie" was born in Madera, Pa., on April 17, 1929, the daughter of the late Isaac and Rosie Bloom Howe. She had resided in Seneca Falls for most of her life. She was retired from the Seneca Falls Central School System where she had worked as a library aide and in food service at the high school and middle school. She was a member and former Elder of First Presbyterian Church, Seneca Falls, the Sincerity Chapter #226 Order of the Eastern Star of Seneca Falls, member and past exalted ruler of Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992, member and past president of the Seneca Falls-Waterloo Kiwanis Club, and a member of the Huntington Living Center Auxiliary of Waterloo, N.Y. She was an avid bowler and golfer, where she had been a member of the Cayuga Lake Links Golf Course.
She is survived by three sons Edward (Sherry) Lorenz Jr., Elmira, N.Y., Kimberly Lorenz, Waterloo, N.Y., Gary (Beth) Lorenz, Acton, Mass.; nine grandchildren Kelly (Scott) Ruhmel, Greg (Amy) Lorenz, Brian (Sarah Manning) Lorenz, Lucas Lorenz, Desirae Lorenz, Edward Busiek, Scott, Lily and Gary Daniel Lorenz; six great-grandchildren Allison, Annalee, Charles Michael Ruhmel, Delaney Moon Lorenz, and Sophia and Dillyn Lorenz; one sister, Jean Norris, Erie, Pa.; one brother, Joseph (Jane) Howe, New Jersey; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, "Dottie" was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Lorenz Sr., who died June 18, 1989; six brothers Elroy, Burton, Jack, Gordon, Richard and Daniel Howe; one sister, Zella Beyer.

I would like Dottie's family to know I had quite a few memorable moments together with her all because we liked each other very much. Sometimes we were serious and sometimes we laughed ALOT. I was proud to have that with her. She proudly spoke of her family ALOT. So sorry. Blessings.
