WILMA SCALES Obituary

WILMA "JEAN" SCALES, 88, formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Dallas Lamb Foundation Home, Payne, Ohio. Born April 2, 1923, in Bloomington, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Frank M. and Rosetta (Vaught) Hunter. She worked as a custodian at Indiana University for 15 years, retiring in 1988. She enjoyed watching TV and reading her Bible. Surviving family include her daughter, Patricia Willingham of Payne, Ohio; siblings, Albert Wayne Hunter and Donald Pate, both of Indianapolis, Joan Stahl of Van Wert, Ohio, and Vady Pate of Farmington, Mich.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; three step-grandsons; seven step-great-grandsons; and seven step-great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one great-grandson; and three brothers, William Hunter, Leonard Pate and Eddie Pate Jr. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.
