SYLVIA P. NOFZINGER

SYLVIA P. NOFZINGER, 91, peacefully passed away on Monday, Dec. 13, 2010. Born in Eel River Township, she was the daughter of Frank and Flora Perry. In 1939, she married Elmer Nofzin ger, a happy marriage that lasted 50 years. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and neighbor. She enjoyed being a homemaker. She had a passion for gardening and quilting and was famous for her delicious homemade pies. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. "In the last few months of her life her family and friends had a chance to visit with this sweet lady. She truly was an inspiration to many. She will be fondly missed and now forever protected. We Bless Sylvia as she died with the respect only to which we can aspire. The family would like to extend a very special thanks and sincere gratitude to her devoted caregiver, Tiffany McNear and to the many wonderful nurses and aides at Parkview Home Health Care & Hospice. Their outstanding care, concern and love for our dear Sylvia allowed her to live out her life in dignity. All of these special people became part of our family." Survivors include her daughters, Judith (Jerry) Stodden of Mundelein, Ill. and Carol J. Craig of Fort Wayne; sisters, Verna Kindlesparger and Erma Warren, both of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Thomas E. (Teresa) Craig Jr., Kelly J. (Dr. Charles) Aust, Michael (Bridget) Stodden, Steven Stodden, and Suzanne (Matt) Jahaske; and six great-grandchildren, Bianca Stodden, Paige Stodden, Gavin Craig, Kyle Stodden, Aubrey Aust, and Connor Craig. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 1989; as well as her two brothers, Lester and Albert Perry; and her son-in-law, Thomas E Craig, Sr. A private family service will be held at a later date.
