Mark and family,
We were so surprised to hear about your mother. We had such a good time last year when she came to Washington for my parents' 65th anniversary. She was so energetic and friendly and full of life! Unfortunately, my mother fell and broke her neck Feb. 28 and must wear a neck brace permanently. What a coincidence that first cousins would have the same fate. ( My mother lives in a nursing home now and is completely dependent on others.) You certainly have our condolences and know that we remember the fun we had last year.

My condolences to the Putt family. I knew Thelma through Girl Scouts the past 12 years that I have been a leader. She was always such an upbeat and pleasant person. She loved Girl Scouts and her family. I have the pleasure of having one of her granddaughters in my Senior/Ambassador Girl Scout troop.

Mrs. Putt was my Girl Scout leader when I was a little girl. Some of the best childhood memories that I have are from learning to ride and care for her horses. I thought of her often as I drove past her road. She was a very special lady, and I'm glad to have known her.

Just wanted the guest book to reflect that our condolences are coming from South Carolina and we certainly would be there with you if it were possible...Oversight not filling in our current address. Certainly not trying to remain anonymous.

My sincere condolences to the entire Putt family. I'm so deeply saddened about this news...it's just very hard to believe.
Thelma was such a joyful, sweet woman and she looked so young and vibrant at the July 4th picnic that she seemed to just get better with age!
With the recent unexpected loss of our father in August, I can fully appreciate the depth of your loss.
My thoughts and prayers are with your whole family-

What to say.....never in a million years would we expect to learn that your mom had died! She was such a trouper..... steadfast, loyal, enduring..... all the qualities of the Girl Scouts she lovingly led through so many years. Once I entered her Circle of Friends via my son Rob's marriage to Jean Putt, I received a birthday card from her EVERY year without fail. I often thought about the many cards she must send. She was an amazing woman, a fantastic role model, and I see the evidence in Jean constantly. May her legacy of love and caring comfort you all now and always.
Sincerely, Lynne and Dick Bush

My deepest sympathies go out to the Putt family, close friends, and loved ones. Although I am no longer a part of of your family ,I did love her as family. My grandmother passed away 11-14-09 so I know how you feel losing someone that was so close to so many.I remember going out to Pizza Hut with Joy, and Thelma occasionally. I always enjoyed her company ,and appreciated her, humor, kindness, and generosity when Joy, and I were married.
My thoughts, and prayers are
with you all.

You have my deepest sympathy. I loved Thelma and my association with her through Girl Scouts and 4-H. I remember well when Bob died and how much she worked during the 4-H Fairs over the years. I always loved to hear about her family, especially about Judy and Joni who were about the ages of my daughters Paula and Mary Margaret. God bless all of you.

Dear children of Thelma - what can I say about your mother that already hasn't been said. Anytime I would see her she would talk about all of you and her grandchildren. She was so humble, but that was one area that you could see her pride.
Michelle, my daughter who lives in Oregon now, was distraught to hear about the passing. She said that Thelma was a wonderful woman and that Joy was her friend.
About a year ago she and I were waiting together at a medical thing. They were running an hour late. The whole time we laughed and talked and laughed and chatted and laughed and laughed some more.
That is the way I will remember your mother.
Love and comfort to all of you,
Diane Whitlock
