Richard Wiedeman Obituary
Born in Needham, Mass., on Aug. 4, 1957, the son of the late Frederick E. and Marguerite E. (Gilliland) Wiedeman Sr., he was raised in Dover, Mass., and moved to East Wakefield, N.H. with his family many years ago.
Richard worked for Ossipee Aggregates, having progressed through several different positions, including the role of scale master that he held at the time of his death.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Richard also enjoyed gardening, landscaping and working on several home improvement projects.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Richard F. and Rebecca M. Wiedeman of Dover; his fiancee, Kathy J. Clark of Franklin, N.H.; two brothers, Frederick E. Wiedeman Jr. of Medway, Maine, and Robert C. Wiedeman of East Wakefield; one sister, Gail Garland of Sanbornville, and two nieces, Tina L. Glidden of Sanbornville, and Amy Garland-Anderson of Fayetteville, N.C.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, at the Peaslee Funeral Home, 2079 Wakefield Road, in Sanbornville. To express online condolences please visit www.peasleefuneralhome.com.

Hey Rick. Sorry I missed writing on your birthday. Things have been crazy here! Glenn had to be life flighted to MA General for a SECOND brain surgery. This time because his brain was bleeding. We had to stay there 5 days, because they couldn't do the surgery until his blood thinners wore off. It was pretty awful!
We missed MJ's 5th birthday cuz we were in Boston. But, we're going to celebrate it today.
Hope you're able to watch over our son and granddaughters! And if you have any "pull", please tell "whoever" that I want to keep Glenn here with me for many more years to come!

I can't believe you've been gone 9 years Rick! I know I always seem to repeat myself, but, I have to say it again, you went WAY too soon! I wish you could be here watching our beautiful, adorable (MOST of the time!) granddaughters, Penny & MJ. Hi Rick. I can't believe it's already been 8 years since you died. It sure doesn't seem like it's been that long! Just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you, and wishing that you could still be here with your friends and family. I especially wish you could be here for our two adorable granddaughters, Penny and MJ. Ricky is a great Dad to them, and brings them here every weekend so that I get to spend time with them. Sure wish you could still be here to see our son Ricky and his two adorable little girls, our granddaughters. MJ turned 2, two days ago. We got them a small pool with a slide, they LOVE to play in it when they come here on the weekends.

I couldn't let the day pass without writing to you Rick. I just can't believe it's already been five years since you've passed!
I think of you often, especially when I'm with our two granddaughters. They are so adorable and smart! I so wish that you could see them and hold them like I can!
Ricky comes pretty much every weekend, so I get to see them a lot. I love every minute that I'm with them, but then I also love the peace and quiet when they go back home! LOL.
It's just so sad that you don't get to love and enjoy them like I do! Hopefully though, you and your parents are looking out for them, and if possible, keeping them safe.

Hi Rick. I know it's been awhile, but I just didn't feel right writing you “Merry Christmas” and “Happy New Year”, when it's really NOT, since you're no longer with us.
I wanted you to know that I still think of you often, especially when I'm with our son Ricky and our two beautiful granddaughters, Penny and Margaret-Joy. It's just so unfair that you can't be here to hold them and watch them grow too! All I can hope for is that wherever you are, you CAN see them, and that somehow you'll be able to keep them safe from any harm.
I also thought of you yesturday when I was transferring phone numbers from our old address book into a new one, and realized just how many of our friends and family are ALSO no longer with us. My parents, your parents, neighbors, close friends, and so many of our precious,loving pets. It was scary to see so many gone, and kind of made me wonder just how much longer I'LL be around! I guess I won't know till it happens, and will try to live each day of my life to its fullest, knowing just how precious and uncertain life can be.
When I'm with our granddaughters at their house, I always point out your picture on their living room wall, and tell them that you're their Grandpa Wiedeman. When they're older, I'm sure that between Ricky and I, we will tell them all about their Grandpa who couldn't be with them, but is hopefully watching over them.
I guess that's it for now. I just wanted to let you know once again that you are NOT forgotten, and never will be!

Hey Rick. Just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you today, on what would have been your 57th birthday. I can't bring myself to write “Happy Birthday”, since it's NOT, and would only be happy if you were still here with us! It's just so sad and awful that you can't be!
We now have two beautiful granddaughters! Two days ago Ricky and Rebecca welcomed Margaret-Joy into the world. We were there within 2 hours of her birth, and couldn't get over just how alert (as well as adorable!) she was! So I'm sure that she's going to be just as sweet, smart, and gorgeous as Penny is. I just wish with all my heart that you could be here to see, hold, and love them both too! Life just wasn't fair to you, and I am sooo sorry for that! Since you can't be here, I'll do my best to give them both enough love for the two of us, ok?!

Hey Rick. Well it's Christmas Eve, with yet another holiday coming that you sadly aren't going to be here to enjoy. I sooo wish that you could be!
Ricky, Rebecca and Penny (That's our granddaughter's name. Actually, they named her Penelope, but (thank goodness!) we all call her Penny.) will be going to your sister Gail's for Christmas dinner, and then they're coming here afterwards to visit and open a few gifts. There's not a lot, what with money being tight now that I'm no longer working, but, I think they'll be happy with what they get.
Penny is just the sweetest, most beautiful baby ever, and Ricky and Rebecca are such loving and devoted parents! It's just such a shame that you can't be here to see that for yourself, or to hold her and love her as the rest of us can. As I told you before though, every time that I kiss her, I'll be doing it for the both of us!
I know that if it's at all possible, you're somewhere nearby, loving and watching over her, as no doubt your parents are too.
I can't bring myself to say “Merry Christmas” to you, since you're not here with us anymore, so instead, I'll just say “take care Rick”.

Hi Rick. I just wanted to let you know that we are officially grandparents! Ricky just called with the news. He sounded sooo happy, excited, and proud! They still haven't "officially" given her a name yet, but I'm sure we'll learn it once we get to the hospital. She was born at 4:25 am, weighed 7.23 lbs., and was 21 inches long. I can't WAIT to see her, and just wish to hell that YOU could be there to see her too! I'm so sorry that you can't be! I tell you what, every time I give her a kiss or a hug, it'll be from the both of us, ok?!
Just think, a part of each of us is in that sweet little baby girl, so when you think about it, YOU (and me, when my time is up) WILL still live on!
If it's possible, I hope that you, your parents, and all our other friends and family who have left us, will be able to watch over our granddaughter as she grows.

Hey Rick. It's been awhile since I last wrote. I didn't have anything much to talk about till now though.
I'm sure that if there's a way, you've been watching over Ricky, so you no doubt already heard the fantastic news that he and Rebecca are having a baby! I am just soooo thrilled and happy about it! I just wish that you could be here in person to join in all the excitement too. At least you know that between Ricky, and in about 8 and a half months, this new baby, (or babies, since twins run on both sides!) that a part of you really DOES, and WILL continue to live on.
On another, far from happy note, I lost my Marble Kitty 3 weeks ago. I still miss her every day. She'd been a part of my life for over 17 years, and I know you remember her, since it was you and Ricky who picked her out and brought her home. Could you please find her, (if you haven't already) and give her some hugs and kisses, and tons of attention, which she was sooo used to getting from me! Well today would have been your 53rd birthday. Words can’t express how very sorry I am that you can’t be here to celebrate it with your friends and family, most especially, our son Ricky. He’ll no doubt have a pretty hard time of it today, knowing it’s your birthday, yet not being able to take you out for your traditional birthday breakfast, or to give you more of those pocket tee shirts you always asked for, (even though you had tons of them already!)
I’m sure you’d be as proud of him as I am for how well he’s been holding up and handling things in the almost 3 months since you’ve been gone. He and his wife Rebecca are settling nicely into the home you so loved and cared for. It’s my fervent wish that one of these days they’ll conceive a child there, and give us a grandchild, who I promise you, I will spoil enough for the both of us!
At least those of us who miss you can take comfort that you’re now with others who went before you, and loved and cared about you as much as we did. As you know, I’m not the religious type, but it’s my greatest hope that you’re now somewhere wonderful with your sweet, loving parents, and are having a great time with people like Jonesy and Danny. And knowing what an animal lover you were, I’m also hoping that you're with the many pets you’ve loved over the years, such as Snowball, Barney, Buffy, Milo, and Sherman.
Until you passed, I never really gave much thought to the words “here today, gone tomorrow”, but now I think about those words all the time. I want you to know that you might be gone now Rick, but, you will NEVER be forgotten! Brenda

You were my husband for over 16 years, and even though we parted, I know that you know how very much I cared about you.
Together we created a caring, smart, wonderful son we could both be extremely proud of. You were a good father, as well as a good man. You certainly didn’t deserve all the health issues that life dealt you! It just breaks my heart that you had to leave us so soon!
