Harry Edwards Obituary

Mr. Harry (Tots) Edwards, born September 11, 1919, died on November 9, 2006, at his home with family. He was born and raised in Waterford, Va. and lived there full time until 1996 when he built his second home in Lovettsville.

He is survived by his wife Leola (Weedie) Edwards; his daughter, Carolyn Speaks and son-in-law, Calvin Speaks; granddaughter, Linda Tribby and grandson-in- law, Brian Tribby; and his great-granddaughter, Rose Lynn Tribby all of Lovettsville, Va.; and step-grandchildren, Allen Speaks of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Debra Speaks of Ranson, W.Va. Mr. Edwards was blessed to have had the most wonderful caregivers that have become part of his family, Kwasi and Diana Ofaci.

He grew up on a dairy farm and worked in retail for many years running the Hub, S&R Chevrolet and construction with his son-in-law.

He enjoyed attending auctions and telling folks of the history of Loudoun County and of the people and stories he knew. He was a huge baseball fan. Before his illness he could be found on his porch in Waterford and offered a gathering spot for neighbors to come and meet.

He was an avid lover of horses and animals. He served in World War II in the Battle of the Bulge 99th Infantry. He took great pride in serving his country. He was a lifelong member of the VFW and the Moose Lodge.
