Joseph Hightower Obituary
Joseph Hightower Bail Bondsman, and Retired Teacher died Tuesday October 20, 2009. A Native of Palmetto, FL. he came to Gainesville, over fifty years ago. Be was a graduate of Florida A& M University, BS degree, Masters degree University of FL. and also held a Specialist degree. Mr. Hightower was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, He served as trustee, member of Finance Committee, Cemetery Committee, Steward, and a member of The United Meth. Men.
Survivors include Son Joseph Hightower, III, Gainesville, FL. Brother, Calvin Hightower, West Palm Beach, FL., Funeral Services for Mr. Hightower will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at 3:30 PM Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Rev. Geraldine W. McCLellan Pastor, officiating. burial will follow in Forest Meadows East Memorial Park.
Under the care of Chestnut Funeral Home 8 N.W. 8th Ave Gainesville, FL. Visitation Friday Chestnut Chapel 2:00 - 7:00 PM and on Sat at the church one hour before the service. There will be no viewing after the eulogy. The cortege will form at the home of Mr. Hightower 1123 S.E. 11th Ave at 2:45 PM.

I remember meeting Mr. Hightower a few years ago. Such a pleasant man who always greeted me with a smile. I know that his family is at peace knowing that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". May he rest in peace. We'll understand it better by and by.
