Patricia Capretta Obituary

Patricia S. "Susie" Casey Capretta passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, after a short illness. She was 63.

The daughter of Joseph and Hannelies (Frombold) Casey, she was born Dec. 28, 1950, in Germany.

A devoted mother and grandmother, she was a talented craftswoman, baker and gardener. She was among the first Galion students to study abroad through the American Field Service student exchange program and went on to become a world traveler, visiting 38 countries and living for a time in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. She graduated in 1969 from Galion High School, attended Indiana University at Bloomington and The Ohio State University, and worked for many years at the law firm of Ricksecker, Wagner and Hoover as well as Rite Aid Pharmacy.

Susie is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Sarah Capretta; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Cory Geyer; five grandchildren, Bryant, Kaya, Jillian, Dominic and Jackson; her husband, Ted Capretta; a brother and sister-in-law, Mitch and Mary Alice Casey; a sister and brother-in-law, Nikki and Chuck Keller; two nephews, Nathan Casey and Sam Keller; and a niece, Erin Casey. Her parents preceded her in death.

Friends and family will gather for a celebration of life Sunday, April 6 at 1 p.m. at the home of her sister, Nikki Keller, 1160 Cherington Drive, Galion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society or Home Care Matters and Hospice of Galion.
