I was visiting a friend in Colorado Springs in probably the early eighties, when my aunt, Lorene Shelton, invited my friend and I to their home for lunch. Frank came home for lunch that day, so I was privileged to meet them both then for the first time. They were both so warm and friendly. My father, Charles McCallister, was Lorene's brother. I had grown up hearing Lorene and Frank's praises, but, having been raised on the west coast, I had never before had the opportunity to meet them. Clearly, my loss.

Dr. Shelton was truly a brilliant man and a gentle, kind one - I will always remember him this way from when I worked at Kaman Nuclear/Kaman Sciences in the 70's and early 80's. Peace be to him and his family who mourn his passing.

I'll always have a special place in my heart for Frank.
I have so many wonderful memories of him when we were growing up together in Boulder City, NV. I learned so much from him, and will miss him. My memories of Frank are happy ones, funny ones, kind ones—snapshots of generosity, wit and especially humor. We shared a paper route together, went on to college together, joined the Army together, got lost hiking down to the River together.
We have keep in close contact for the 72 years since high school. I will miss my pal but, will enjoy the memories we made together.

Although I never met him, I have learned a lot about him from his daughter, my friend Gwen. He was an amazing man, and I would have loved to have known him. I'm sorry for your loss!

I was honored to know Frank late in his life, through my mother, his classmate from long ago, Helen Ide. When each of them was left alone after the loss of their spouses, they renewed their old friendship; by then, not many were left to remember the times they had shared as young people in Boulder City, or the parents who raised them. We had grown up hearing about but not knowing Frank. He was a gentle and kind spirit in our family circle until he was no longer able to travel. My condolences go to his daughters.

What an incredible man we had among us...also a very dear and kind friend..he contributed his talents to us all and although it must have been time, I'm sorry he's gone from the world.
Frank and I went to Boulder City High School together and connected up again when he went to Cal Tech , while I went to Pasadena College.
Over the years we have shared so many of our memories together, I will miss him.

Frank was the man who offered me a job at Kaman Sciences which I held for 30+ years. Over that time he became a friend and source of great stories about his career. He was a remarkable man and will be missed. I have several autographed copies of his books which I treasure.
Peace to his family.
