Rudolph Krzanowski Obituary

EASTHAMPTON- Rudolph "Rudy" Krzanowski, 83, of Pepin Avenue, passed away on July 19, 2012, at the Overlook at Northampton.

Born in Easthampton, he was the son of the late Jacob and Henrietta (Wopinska) Krzanowski.

Rudy retired from the former Rodney Hunt Co. in Orange as a forklift operator and was a co-owner of the former Emily's Pizza and Grinder Shoppe in Easthampton.

Rudy was a musician and vocalist with the Larry Chesky Orchestra, Chet Dragon Orchestra, The American Legion Band, and other local bands. He was a communicant of the Our Lady of the Cross Church in Holyoke and the former Mater Dolorosa Church. He was an avid bowler, a Red Sox fan, and loved Polka music.

Rudy leaves his wife of 62 years, Emily (Zerek) Krzanowski; a son, Gregory Krzanowski and his wife Kirstin of Easthampton; two daughters, Sue Krzanowski of Northampton and Kathy Krzanowski of North Providence, R.I.; a sister, Arlene Obertz of Easthampton; two grandchildren, Gregory Krzanowski, Jr. and Courtney Krzanowski; and a great-grandson, Anthony Krzanowski.

Rudy was predeceased by his brothers, Edward, Stanley and Alfred Krzanowski.

His funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Boucher-O'Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant Street, Easthampton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cross Church, 23 Sycamore Street, Holyoke. Burial in the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley. Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
