Ethel Myers Obituary

GRETNA, Va. - Ethel Hammack Myers, 84, of 189 Burke Road, Gretna, died Monday, April 3, 2006 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born October 4, 1921, in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late John William Hammack and Eliza Hall Hammack.
She was a homemaker.
She was married to the late Collian Myers.
She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Wyatt of Martinsville, Lois Irby of Gretna and Doris Conner of Gretna; one brother, Roy Hammack of Pittsburgh, Pa.; five sisters, Gladys Tuck, Thelma Thompson, Shirley Moore, and Sallie Hammack, all of Gretna and Elva Hammack of Chatham; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Gordon Myers; three brothers, Clifton Hammack, Pete Hammack and Calvin Hammack; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 6 at the Colbert-Moran Chapel with the Rev. A.A. Blanks and the Rev. John Belderes officiating. Interment will follow in the Myers Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the residence, 189 Burke Road.
Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna is in charge of arrangements.
