VIRGINIA PALMER Obituary

Virginia Claybrook Palmer

Virginia Claybrook Palmer, 96, formerly of Charlotte County, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in Lynchburg. She was the wife of the late Allie Bernard Palmer. Born in Charlotte County on February 14, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Algie and Janie Owen Claybrook. She was a lifetime member of Staunton River Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Eva Jennings, Hazel Tuggle, Eunice Marston; three brothers, James, William, Dewey Claybrook and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Palmer. She is survived by a son, Larry Palmer of Lynchburg; a daughter, Janet Hall and husband, Mike of Danville; 4 grandchildren, Paul Palmer and wife, Megan, Mandi Striker and husband, John, Jennifer Early, and husband, Jerry, Julie Palmer and 7 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011 in Peakland Baptist Church by the Rev. Don Harvey with burial to follow in Staunton River Baptist Church Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., today, Friday, December 2, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers please consider Peakland Baptist Church or Staunton River Baptist Church.
