Kenneth Kuethe
Kenneth H. Kuethe, age 81, of Alton, formerly of Staunton, died at 1:57 p.m., on Monday, May 24, 2010, at the home of his sister-in-law in Dorsey.
He was born on March 3, 1929, in Prairietown, the son of the late Emil and Adena Buhs Kuethe.
He married Shirley Mae Grange on Oct. 22, 1950, in Edwardsville. She preceded him in death on July 15, 1999.
He then married Ruth Aljets Boyd on Feb. 21, 2004, in Staunton. She survives.
Along with his wife, Ruth Kuethe of Alton, he is survived by five sons: Terry Kuethe of Staunton, Larry Kuethe and wife Montica of Brighton, Kevin Kuethe and wife Peggy of Staunton, Brian Kuethe and wife Debbie of Staunton and Michael Kuethe and wife Lisa of Staunton; two step-sons: Ralph Boyd and wife Nyla of Worden and Donald Boyd and wife Sue of South Roxana; grandchildren: Michelle Bauer, Tonya Massalone and husband Vinny, Megan Julian and husband Ben, Laryn Kuethe, Kendra Sigafoos and husband Jon, Michael Jurgess and wife Joanna, Alexandra Kuethe, Kyle Kuethe, Dusty Brooke, Jesse and Liz, Tommy and Becky; and great-grandchildren: Christian, Brennan, Jake, Julia, Hailey, Andrew, Jack, Kendall and Jaiden.
Along with his parents and his first wife, he is preceded in death by two brothers: Harold and Delmar Kuethe.
Mr. Kuethe was a pipefitter at Granite City Steel for 35 years. He was the founder of Kuethe Corporation in 1977.
His memberships include Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton, Illinois and Messiah Lutheran Church of Alton, Concordia Singing Society of Staunton, the Zion Dartball League and honorary member of Staunton VFW Post # 1241.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Thursday, May 27, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, May 28, at Zion Lutheran in Staunton, with Rev. Joel Fritzsche and Rev. Randy Fisher officiating.
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton or to Messiah Lutheran Church of Alton.
