Simon Lopez Obituary

SAN ANGELO Simon Flores Lopez of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Feb. 24, 2011, at his residence with his faily at his side. Simon was a loving husband, father, brother and friend and will be missed by many. He was born in Mertzon, Texas, on Feb. 3, 1949, to Theodore Sr. and Francisca Lopez. Simon met the love of his life, Yolanda Jaso in 1967. They married and had three sons, Jerry, Timothy and Christopher. Simon worked until January of 2011 for Roberts Construction as a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore; mother Francisca, wife Yolanda; and brother Ruben, all of San Angelo. Surviving family are sons Simon Jerry Lopez and wife Amy, Timothy Lopez, Christopher Ray Lopez and wife Andrea, all of San Angelo; grandchildren Brittany, Ashley, Katie, Justin, Savannah, Johnathan and Christopher; brothers Theodore Lopez Jr. and Daniel Lopez and wife Connie, both of San Angelo; sisters Eva McCutchen and Ray of Mertzon, Olivia Rodriquez and husband Henry of San Angelo, Elva Alvarez and husband Ismael of Levelland, Yolanda Ledezma and husband Juan of Miles, Irma Lopez of San Angelo and Norma Delarosa and husband Joey of San Angelo; uncle Guadalupe Lopez of Stevenville; and aunt Dominga Gordon of Plano. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with interment following at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. His family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Shannon 4 South, Dr. Duarte, Dr. Cummings and the staff of nurses at VistaCare for all of their care and comfort.
