Miczelovscona Romain Obituary

Miczelovscona Heiya Jaylusca Miriam Makelovkoya (Countess of Boradin and Sibelinsk) Romain, 74, of Great Falls, died of natural causes Monday, Nov. 26, at her home.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of O'Connor Funeral Home. Her ashes will be scattered Memorial 2013.

Misha was born March 8, 1938, in Geneva, Switzerland, in her father's house built in 1913, to Mr. and Mrs. Guillaume. Misha's grandmother on her mother's side was a Rothchild and on her father's side an Openheimer. Misha could trace her family tree back to King David and his first wife, Abigale, so when her mother died in 1963, Misha became the number one Jewish princess in the world, as the rest of her family was killed in the Holocaust. Misha would give you her shirt off her back if you asked for it. Misha was the most private person I have ever met. Some of the people she met in her lifetime include Queen Elizabeth of England (twice), Queen Wilhelmina of Holland, many times, as her "favorite uncle" was vice president of Royal Dutch Shell and financial adviser to Queen Wilhelmina. She was a flower girl at the wedding of King Juan Carlos of Spain. She met Lord Balfour, who created the state of Israel, several times as he was her favorite person. She went to school with the grandchildren of Chancellor Adenauer of Germany, sat across the table from David Ben-Gurion when the state of Isreal was born and witnessed the hanging of Adolph Eichman. She peed on Pope Pius XII when he held her on his lap when she was 18 months old. She witnessed the stoning of a 14 year old Muslim girl (because she looked at another man) and she had been to Mecca several times (dressed as a man). She invited Ernest Hemingway to give several lectures at Oxford. Misha graduated at Oxford with top honors in World Economics and Political Science. Because of her good grades, she was invited to have tea with Queen Elizabeth. She partied with the Beatles in London, skied with the Beach Boys in Colorado. At the age of 14, Misha was the youngest participating down hill skier in the World Olympicsin Helsinki, Finland, in 1952. She, met all of the major musicians of the 1950s and '60s, including Barbra Streisand. One western singer wrote a song about her: "Hard Headed Woman." She played tennis with John Wayne at the Broadwater Country Club in Colorado Springs. Bob Hope acted as her caddy at a golf tournament at Pebble Beach. She drank beer with Augie Busch and her good friend Stan Watkins at her bar in Cut Bank. She went on trail rides and the Kentucky Derby with the chicken king, Mr. Tyson. She ran a campaign office for Sen. Kit Bond when he ran for senator from Missouri. She took classes from Henry Kissinger. She stayed with the Rockefellers when visiting in New York, who introduced her to General Bradley, and their children introduced her to Woodstock. She knew Homer Scott (the biggest cattle rancher in Wyoming) who Misha's mother befriended by letting them use their ski lodge in Davos (66 years ago) when they had lost their reservations. She knew Gov. Racicot, and her good friend, Lt. Gov. Allen Kolstad of Montana and Governors Lamb and Love of Colorado, Senators Burns and Baucus of Montana and Rep. Denny Rehberg, and don't forget Benny Reynolds, world champion saddle bronc rider, who tossed his hat to her at the first rodeo she attended in Madison County, Dr. Burke and his nurse, Kitty, and Chief Windy Boy (of the Blackfoot tribe), who offered to adopt her into the tribe.

I didn't know until a couple weeks ago that she attended Gaddafi's big celebration in the late 50s and he asked her to dance the Vienna Waltz with him. I hope she is still dancing as she loved music. To all the people who never met her, Misha said it best, "I never met a stranger." So, no good-byes. She loved Montana.

To all wishing Misha a good journey, you can attend the scattering of her ashes 3 p.m. Memorial Day in the Romain plots at Manchester cemetary, seven miles west of Great Falls.
